Self Care. Support. Sanctuary.

Hello and welcome to Dorset Fertility Wellbeing

My name is Lisa and after a 6 year long fertility battle, I quit my boring desk job and followed a calling to retrain in Abdominal Therapy, so I could help everyone behind me on that same difficult path.

During my own journey I tried just about every holistic treatment going, but Abdominal Therapy was the one I loved the most. It felt like a much needed and well-deserved treat, whilst also taking care of my underlying issues, a truly win-win experience.

Ultimately, I believe it helped me welcome my daughter into this world, and my hope is to help you get to the little soul waiting for you quicker and with your own mind, body & spirit at peace.

Whilst I focus on fertility owing to my personal struggles, the work itself is absolutely my passion. So, if you have stumbled across me because you suffer from digestive issues, painful periods, pelvic pain or scar tissue from abdominal surgery then I’d be delighted to work with you.

I practice from my cosy home therapy room, in a village setting, located centrally in Dorset, UK. I can also offer parts of the treatment via online appointments, to anyone living elsewhere in the world.

You can read more on my “What Is Abdominal Therapy” page. If it feels right for you, or you’d like to know more, please get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.

I offer a free 15-minute chat if you’d like to talk things through. Please contact me to arrange.

Training and Certificates

I began training for this career shift in 2024. Coming from 20-odd years in a desk job, I decided to first undertake a full-body Swedish massage course, along with an anatomy, physiology and pathology course to provide me with a solid foundation. These were both completed by January 2025, and at that point I enrolled on the next available Abdominal Therapy course in June of that year.

Forms of womb massage have been practised by village healers and midwives in cultures across the globe for thousands of years, but the discipline I fell in love with during my own journey, and subsequently qualified in, has its roots in Central America. Perilously close to being lost to history, this work was picked up by Dr Rosita Arvigo, who blended it with scientific knowledge gained through her training in Naprapathy and ultimately gave us the gift of Abdominal Therapy as it is today.

Dr Arvigo founded the Abdominal Therapy Collective in 2020 as a group dedicated to maintaining and fostering the Maya abdominal practices she was guided in, and this collective now includes practitioners all over the world. You can find out more at abdominaltherapycollective.com.
